Higher-order Dirac semimetal in a photonic crystal

The recent discovery of higher-order topology has largely enriched the classification topological materials. Theoretical and experimental studies have unveiled various insulators that exhibit topologically protected corner or hinge states. More recently, been introduced to semimetals. Thus far, realistic models verifications on semimetals are still very limited. Here, we design demonstrate a three-dimensional photonic crystal realizes Dirac semimetal phase. Numerical results band structure show designed is able host two four-fold points, momentum-space projections which at an edge connected by can be characterised with calculation \chi(6) invariant different values k_z. An experiment microwave frequencies also presented measure state dispersion. Our work demonstrates physical realization phase paves way exploring phases in systems.
